We have completed accessioning and cataloguing Julie Dern's Collection comprising over 900 books, maps, CD's and DVD's which Julie compiled over her many years as a family historian. There is a vast array of subjects including Burial Registers, Cemetery Registers, Local Histories, School Registers and Histories, Shipping Lists etc, from Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria and South Australia. This may assist in researching your family tree.
We have completed compiling a list of names from the Commercial Banking Company of Sydney Ledgers dating from 1873. This has given us an insight into the various community groups working in the town and surrounding area during the early years. It should be noted these ledgers were saved from the massive fire in 1899 that wiped out a large portion of the main street and associated buildings.
During 2019 Warren Historical & Family History Society published the book "For King & Country" a compilation of all the Service Men and Women from Warren Shire in the WW1. Copies of the book are available from the Society for $60 by contacting the society.
Owing to the popularity of the above book, there is a growing demand for a similar volume for the WW2 Service Men and Women, who were born or enlisted from the local shire. A project of the future!
